BitRaser File Eraser Network provides the option to schedule tasks for the erasure of files and folders from any or all the connected OUs at once. It allows you to schedule as many new tasks as you want for multiple files and folders.
1. Run BitRaser File Eraser Network.
2. Once you have successfully logged into your domain using administrator credentials, select Create Erasure Task option from the Home menu. Schedule Erasure window appears with Files & Folders tab selected by default.
3. Select Files & Folders tab from the Schedule Erasure window.
4. There are two options under Select Option section:
New Task
5. New Task option is selected by default. If not selected then select this option.
6. Enter the task name you wish to create in the Task Name field.
7. Enter the path in the Choose Items section and click Add Path to add the desired file or folder path.
8. If you want to add a CSV file containing mutiple paths, click Import List.
9. Once the CSV file is succesfully added, click Add Path.
10. All the paths you added appear in the table given below the Choose Items section.
Note: Right-click on the path in the table. A menu appears as show below:
Check All - Use this option to check all the paths shown in th table.
Uncheck All - Use this option to uncheck all the paths shown in the table.
Remove This Item - Use this option to remove the selected path from the path list.
Remove Checked Items - Use this option to remove all the selected paths from the list.
Remove All Items - Use this option to remove all the items from the list.
Note: If you intend to delete a file from one specific computer while preserving it in another computer that shares the same path name, it is advisable to deselect the speciifc computer from where you don't wish to erase the data. Otherwise, the file can get deleted from both the computers.
11. The list of selected files and folders path appears. Use Add Path button to add as many files or folders path you want.
12. Click Next.
13. Schedule the erasure task. Select the Frequency using the Run drop-down list:
Select Once to run Schedule Erasure once.
Select Daily to run Schedule Erasure daily.
Select Weekly to run Schedule Erasure every week.
Select Monthly to run Schedule Erasure every month.
Select Every Boot to run Schedule Erasure at every startup.
14. From Start from, select Date and Time of Schedule Erasure. Click Next.
15. Select OUs & Computers window appears with the list of connected OUs to the domain. Choose the computers on which you wish to apply the task settings and click Save.
Note: Uncheck "Show erasure activity while running scheduled task" checkbox if you don't want to see the erasure activity being performed while the scheduled task is running.
15. Task Status dialog box appears with task details such as serial number, Computers/OUs, status and description once the task has been successfully created. Click OK to exit or click Save to browse and save the list of task status at your desired location in .csv format.
Note: The status appears as failure if the selected computer is inaccessible or doesn't meet the task requirements.
16. Save List dialog box appears with the message "Computer list saved successfully" once you have successfully saved your task. Click OK to finish the process.
