In this KB, we will share step-by-step instructions on how to erase Apple® Watch with BitRaser Mobile Eraser software.
Introduced in 2015, the Apple Watch is a smartwatch brand produced by Apple Inc. It is one of the best-selling wearable devices in the world, with alluring features like fitness tracking, Wi-Fi communication, health monitoring, and innovative safety functions. Apple Watches works in conjunction with the Apple iPhone® for configuration and data syncing. These watches collect, transmit, and store a significant amount of personal health data, which is both sensitive and confidential in nature. Therefore, it is essential to erase the Apple Watch before reselling, disposing of, or reallocating it to safeguard data confidentiality. Let us see how to erase Apple Watch using BitRaser Mobile Eraser & Diagnostics software.
Key Requirements:
- Device: Laptop or Desktop to Install Software
- Operating System: Windows or No OS (For Linux Edition)
- Apple Watch: To Erase
- Adapter: iBus to connect Apple Watch with PC or Laptop
- Cable & Pin: Apple Lightning cable to connect iBus with Laptop & a Pin to remove the cover of Apple Watch Diagnostic Port
We have bifurcated this KB into 2 sections for ease of understanding:
Stage 1: Install BitRaser Mobile Eraser & Diagnostics
Step 1: Log in to the BitRaser Cloud console using the login credentials received. Download BitRaser Mobile Eraser & Diagnostics from the ‘Download BitRaser’ section on the left pane. (Refer to Image 1)
Note: For this KB, we will be using the Windows edition.

Step 2: Double-click on the BitRaser Mobile Eraser & Diagnostics application and click ‘Next’ to begin the installation process. (Refer to Image 2)

Step 3: Select “I accept the agreement,” then click ‘Next’.
Step 4: Select additional shortcuts you want, then click ‘Next’.
Step 5: The BitRaser Mobile Eraser & Diagnostics is now ready to install; click ‘Install’. (Refer to Image 3)
Click on ‘Finish’ to complete the installation. The software is now installed on your Windows machine. (Refer to Image 4)

Step 1: The BitRaser Mobile Eraser & Diagnostics software will launch, and you will see a ‘User Login’ window. Enter the BitRaser Cloud credentials you used to log into your BitRaser Cloud account in Stage 1, then click ‘Log in’. (Refer to Image 5)

Step 2: Remove the strap of the Apple Watch. Remove the cover too, that protects the Diagnostic Port of the Apple Watch. Now, Connect the watch with the iBus adapter (Refer to Image 6) and connect the iBus to your laptop. The Apple Watch will now be visible on the BitRaser Mobile Eraser & Diagnostics interface. (Refer to Image 7)

Important: If the Apple Watch is ‘Activated’, then you will be prompted to click ‘Trust’ on the Apple Watch to grant BitRaser Mobile Eraser access. For Apple Watch that is ‘Not Activated’, no such message will be displayed.
Step 3: Click the blue play button to start the Apple Watch erasure process. You will see an ‘Alert Window’ informing you that all the data on the Apple Watch will be erased beyond recovery; click ‘Proceed’. (Refer to Image 8)

Step 4: Press and hold the ‘Digital Crown’ on the Apple Watch, and click ‘Reset’. (Refer to Image 9)

Step 5: The process to erase the Apple Watch will start, and the Apple Watch will be erased in a couple of minutes. (Refer to Image 10)

Your Apple Watch has been successfully erased. You can view its detailed erasure report on the BitRaser Cloud console or download it to your device. (Refer to Report)
