BitRaser File Eraser / 4. Working with the Software / 4.2. Erasing Free Space
Erasing Free Space is cleaning up the free space from your system that includes deleted files and fragments of data. When you delete the data from your hard drive, it is not completely deleted and can be recovered again. It is because the traces of data remain on hard drive until they are erased or overwritten. To completely erase the deleted data beyond recovery use the Erase Free Space option.
Run BitRaser File Eraser.
Select Erase Free Space from the Select Option tabs displayed on the left pane of the screen. All the connected drives consisting of Free Space are displayed as below:
Select the desired system volume to initiate the erasure process for its deleted data.
Click Erase Now to start erasure process.
Confirm Erasure dialog box appears to confirm whether you want to erase the free space of the selected volume permanently. Click Proceed to continue.
