BitRaser File Eraser / 4. Working with BitRaser File Eraser / 4.2. Erase Free Space
Erasing Free Space is cleaning up the free space from your system that includes deleted files and fragments of data. When you delete data from your hard drive, it is not entirely removed and can potentially be recovered. The traces of the data persist on the hard drive until are overwritten or erased. Use Erase Free Space option to completely erase the deleted data beyond recovery.
Run BitRaser File Eraser.
Select Erase Free Space from Select Option displayed on the left pane of the screen. All the connected drives consisting of free space are displayed as shown below:
Select the desired system's volume you want to erase for its deleted data.
Click Erase Now to start erasure process.
A confirmation message "This action will erase the free space of the selected volume." appears. Click Proceed to start the erasure process.
A progress bar appears with the status of erasure process.
Click OK to finish the process.
Erasure Completed dialog box appears. Click OK.
